What is the expected behavior? Headphone is 1st priority output device no matter the sequence of the plug/unplug audio devices. 1.Headset jack and USB audio devices. 2.DisplayPort and HDMI outputs (when EDID indicates the sink is audio capable). 3.Built-in speakers. Refer from: https://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/chromiumos-design-docs/cras-chromeos-audio-server What went wrong? The priority of the HDMI output will high than headphone after done the some test steps. Did this work before? Starting M51 there was an update to the way audio nodes change called Persistent per Audio Device Profile - issue 308143 . In the step 4, the last unplugged active node was HDMI audio. This is working as intended. |
