GPG Suite failing with Google Chrome [Can't allocate a new block for a pasteboard.]

Project Member Reported by erikc...@chromium.org, Dec 8 2016

Issue description

For a description of the problem, see thread at https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=467296#c23.

Something on gio's machine is eating up all the pasteboard space [e.g. leaking pasteboards], which prevents the pgp service from functioning [integration requires pasteboard space]. Very suspiciously, in c#23, it looks like Chrome is trying to create a new pasteboard every 4 seconds. That being said, we haven't heard of anyone else with this problem in quite some time, so this makes me suspect some type of third-party content at play [e.g. extension, plugin, w/e].

gio, two questions:
1) If you use Chrome by itself [on a machine where you've never launched GPG Suite] and browser for a couple of minutes, do some copy pasting, do you get this pboard error in the logs? If not, we know that the problem lies at the intersection of GPG Suite and Chrome.

2) If you use GPG Suites with Chrome Canary, do you still get this problem? [Chrome Canary will use a different Chrome profile, so it will lose all the extensions, plugins, etc.]

thanks.

i will try to troubleshoot this in my spare time (which is getting less and less)

quick questions about youre post.

when you say " a machine where youve never launched GPG Suite" do you mean a machine other than the one I am on and having issues with? or do you mean after a fresh reboot?

and...

i downloaded canary. but i need to break the system to test that one. right now everything is working as it should (restarted after my last post)

shouldnt be but a matter of time now. ill let you know

Thanks for following up.

It's not clear to me how GPG Suite works - but for now let's assume that if you never try using the service it will not affect the system. [e.g. just use a fresh restart].
