Better align desktop search engines settings UI with proposed Android UI |
|
Issue descriptionAndroid UI for "manage search engines" ( chrome://settings/searchEngines ): https://folio.googleplex.com/chrome-ux/mocks/025-query-in-omnibox-mobile/02_Keyword%20Provider/060616_ClankList#%2F01_List.png This suggests two possible changes on desktop: (1) Eliminate heading on top ("default search engines") section (2) Add "recently visited" section below that (but above "other engines") to facilitate easy access to recently-used engines when the list of all engines is long I think we should definitely do (2), less sure about (1).

When (2) was implemented on Android, I sought for it to be done in a way that would be useful for desktop as well. I don't remember exactly where the code lives, but it's definitely feasible without massive amounts of work. |
