Issue descriptionThis fix was originally submitted as https://codereview.chromium.org/2414193002 which landed in 56.0.2891.0 It was subsequently inadvertently rolled back in the course of a weekly merge process. It was rolled forward again via: https://codereview.chromium.org/2547583002/ which landed in 57.0.2939.0. (Canary as of ~ Dec. 1st). Requesting permission to merge back into M56 branch, so that we don't have to wait until March 15th for data from stable channel.
