Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2914.3 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Run http://mlogcat.tistory.com/ (I ran it through wine-1.9.23 (Staging) on Ubuntu Linux 16.04) 2. Open the attached text file (Right click Files in the bottom left corner in Device Manager in mLogcat program) 3. Go to line Num 545 (probably any other line will work too) 4. Right click the line and select Copy Items To Clipboard 5. Paste using Ctrl+V to any text field in Google Chrome What is the expected behavior? Pasting text should not freeze the browser What went wrong? The browser CPU usage goes to 100% and the browser freezes, while I pasted it inside address bar it freezes for around a minute few times with delays, but when I pasted it to "Report problem..." description box it frozen completely until I killed the process. The browser does not crash. Crashed report ID: no How much crashed? Whole browser Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 56.0.2914.3 Channel: dev OS Version: Ubuntu 16.04 Flash Version: 24.0.0.170 (Video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwkNGf1ge5g&feature=youtu.be (Atom.io editor also has the same issue as you can see in my process list) Bug in Google Chrome 56.0.2914.3 dev (64-bit) causes high CPU usage. While pasting text with special characters (not sure exactly what is produced in my input) the browser hangs on 100% CPU usage. I can't paste that text here because browser will stop responding. It's not normal behavior I guess and I know it needs 3rd party software to reproduce the problem, but it's just used for getting the output malicious text query.
