<option title="something"> Tool tip not working in Linux

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.75 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Visit any website with a select element
2. Open select element, hover mouse over option
3. If option field has a "title" attribute, it never gets displayed

What is the expected behavior?
Tooltip will appear after a brief moment

What went wrong?
Tooltip did not appear after a brief moment

Did this work before? Yes Chrome < V30

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.75  Channel: stable
OS Version: Linux Mint 18 Sarah
Flash Version: 

There are other bug reports for this issue (now closed) but these were all for Windows.

This is still broken in Linux.
