Unable to reproduce the issue on Windows-10 using chrome latest stable M55-55.0.2883.75. No issues observed in playing audio on chrome.

Reporter@ Could you please try some of these tips that will most likely resolve the issue:

1.Restart Chrome.
2.Double-check to make sure your mute button is not enabled on your computer.
3.If you’re running a web app that has audio control like Pandora or YouTube, make sure the app is not muted.
4.Try using incognito mode. If you no longer see the error message, this means you may have an issue with a Chrome extension or theme.
5.Clear your cache and cookies.
6.View the same website in another browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox and see if sound plays. If sound still doesn’t play in other browsers
7.Check your sound mixer or audio settings. It could be possible that you have Chrome only muted. Click on the speaker icon in your system tray and click “mixer.” If there is a muted icon under Chrome, click on the icon to un-mute Chrome.

Thanks!
I have checked all of that and still no sound
RESOLVED!!!

If you look at your volume mixer it shows system sounds and thats it... if you go to you tube and play a video AND THEN go to volume mixer, THEN it shows chrome. I unmuted this and it finally worked. I seen in multiple locations to unmute chrome in the volume mixer but if your not playing a you tube video first while you look at the volume mixer it doesnt show up, its hidden until you play a video at the same time
