Issue descriptionDevice name: Samsung S3 NEO, Samsung S6 EDGE, Honor 7 Android version: 4.4.2, 6.0 WebView version: not available Application: Chrome Application version: 54.0.2840.85 URLs: google.it Steps to reproduce: (1)Open Chrome and open a new tab (we'll call it 'TAB A'); (2)Write in the search text field something (eg: "Alessandro") and make the search; (3)Open one of the results of the research in a new tab (we'll call it 'TAB B'); (4)Come back to TAB A and write something other near the previous text (eg: complete "Alessandro" with "Del", so you'd have in the search text field "Alessandro Del"), then make again the search; (5)Again, open one of the results of the new research in a new tab (we'll call it 'TAB C'); (6)Now, come back again to TAB A, and try to write something other near the previous text (eg: try to write "Piero" near "Alessandro Del"). Expected result: I'd to see "Alessandro Del Piero" on the search text field. Actual result: I see "Alessandro Del" on the search text field.

Hi there, thanks for reporting this issue. Some questions to clarify the issue here: 1) Is this reproducible on version 55 (or Chrome beta) as well? 2) Do you long-press the search result to open it on a new tab? If so, the new page will be launched in the background. Do you have to go to the new tab and come back for steps (4) and (6)? 3) In step (6), you mean typing doesn't work? Or did you go to another tab and come back and found that the text is gone? Thanks!
