Middle click is no longer triggering "onclick" events

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.75 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. https://jsfiddle.net/s28h6u9h/
2. Middle click on "Click me"

What is the expected behavior?
Receive a "clicked" alert

What went wrong?
The "onclick" event is never triggered

Did this work before? Yes 54

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.75  Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0
