Chrome locks up after browsing for files to upload

Chrome Version       : 54.0.2840.99 (Official Build) m (32-bit)
Other browsers tested: Edge 38.14393.0.0
       EDGE: OK 38.14393.0.0

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Attempt to upload or save a file
(2) Complete upload/download or cancel the action

What is the expected result?
  I expect to be able to instantly go back to browsing.

What happens instead?
  Chrome locks up for a few seconds.

Windows 10. Even if you cancel the action Chrome locks up. This does not happen on Edge. It is extremely annoying. Please add this issue to your fix list. Sorry for any incorrect formatting :)

Unable to reproduce the issue on windows-7, windows-10, Mac-10.12.2 and Linux Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome stable version 55.0.2883.87 and latest canary 57.0.2969.0 with the steps mentioned above.
Reporter@ could you please upgrade the chrome to latest version and let us know your observations if the issue still persists.
