harry.elston@ if possible can you please provide the crash_id's which can be found at "chrome://crashes" to further debugg.
,
Dec 2 2016
No. I cannot. Chrome crashes before it starts. chrome://crashes does not work in Firefox. CHROME WILL NOT EVEN START before it is crashed.
,
Dec 2 2016
No, I cannot. Chrome crashes even before it starts with a big "Chrome has stopped working" immediately on install.

Sorry to ask so many checks if possible can you please try steps from our Help center article(Fix problems if Chrome won't open at all) which can be found here and let us know if that helps, I am trying to reproduce at my end but so far no luck :

No joy on any fix on the list. Here's a screenshot of what I'm getting

Thanks for trying to debug it with us, and sorry for the hassle. Normally, if you'd opted in to sharing crash data, it would be uploaded so I could investigate, but because it's crashing so early, it's not doing that in this case. I've attached a .reg file that will add a key to your registry. If you could try this: - Download and double click the attached .reg file (it'll add a key that makes Windows save a dump file) - Run chrome 55 again (it'll still crash) - Win+R and enter %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps Then there should be a .dmp file in that directory. If you could attach that .dmp file here or email it to scottmg@chromium.org, that would be very helpful. Thanks again.

No Joy. Here's the screenshot

Oh, shoot, sorry! You might have to first make that directory, if you open %LOCALAPPDATA% and then create a new folder there called "CrashDumps" (no space) and then try again? (This is why we try to automate this normally, very tedious to do manually!)

Please send me the complete path if you can Harry Sent from my mobile device.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're asking. You mean the path to %LOCALAPPDATA%? It depends on your user name. For me it's "C:\Users\scott\AppData\Local" but the "scott" part depends on your Windows user name.

I'm away from the computer for the rest of the day. Will attend to this tomorrow. Harry Sent from my mobile device.

No problem, thanks for looking. One suspicion we have is anti-virus. You might want to try updating or temporarily disabling your anti-virus (Avast?).
,
Dec 2 2016
I run Avast. I disabled it and still got the crash. I did not uninstall it, nor will I. I'll have to switch to Mozilla permanently if that is the case. Sent from my mobile device.

OK, thanks for confirm that, it's useful to know that switching it off temporarily didn't help.

Ok -back on it. So, I created the directory (shown in the screenshot), tried to open Chrome (failure), then Win+R+%LOCALAPPDATA% and received the same error (shown). I opened the Directory (shown) and it's empty. Next?

Sorry this issue hasn't gotten any attention in a while. Did you eventually resolve the issue?
,
Jun 21 2018
I think it got resolved after a few updates from Chrome. Go ahead and close it out. I've been using Chrome for over a year now without any problems. Harry
