MediaRouter test should be migrated off of legacy_page_test |

Issue descriptionMediaRouter test should be migrated off of legacy_page_test & use TBMv2 (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LJbh9iF7e18jNEDwD_tYt5WtiOoMJdV12Z9GxdTLJUo/edit) framework instead. Wez@ why do your team not put this benchmark on the perf waterfall?

Clifford do you know what needs to be done here?

I think there was a conversation to add our test to perf waterfall. But it doesn't work because there is no support (and no plan to support) of Chromecast in their lab. Ned, what's the plan for deprecating the legacy_page_test? When do I need to finish the migration?

We don't have a particular plan to deprecating legacy_page_test in 2017 since there are lots of the benchmarks still use this, but we have declared feature freeze on this framework. We still encourage teams to migrate to the new framework to get these following benefits: 1) Metrics are computed using trace data, and since telemetry upload traces to the dashboard, it's easier to debug regression with traces when they happen. 2) Metrics defined in TBM2 will also enabled in about://tracing UI (the metrics side panel) 3) TBMv2 support histogram for collecting the metrics. You don't need to compute std/mean/... yourself, and our UI stack support display histogram as well.
