Issue descriptionChrome Version: 56.0.2924.9 OS Version: 9000.10.0 What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. In Hangouts Chrome App, any other Chrome App, or any web page in Chrome -- attempt to upload a file that is not in the Downloads folder (ie. in Google Drive, or another network drive mounted in File Manager). 2. You can select the file to upload, however, the upload FAILS 100% of the time regardless is the file is in an SMB mount, SSH mount, or from Google Drive. What is the expected result? - The Chrome App or Chrome web page is able to access files from Google Drive or other network mounted drives and the file uploads successfully. What happens instead of that? - Apparently, only files from inside the Downloads folder can be uploaded in Chrome Apps and Chrome web pages, so you must first download the file using the File Manager and then upload it from there. (What a pain!) Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. - Please see attached screenshots of attempting to add an image to a Hangouts conversation that is actually a file in my Google Drive. UserAgentString: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 9000.10.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.9 Safari/537.36

Note that this is ChromeOS specific... But worked for me on ChromeOS. I was able to upload out of a subfolder of Drive. I just used the example on https://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/forms/file.html and uploaded a text file; it echoed back the start of the file as expected. Can anyone else repro?

Using the simple file upload test here: https://encodable.com/uploaddemo/ I can successfully upload any file from Downloads or Google Drive. However, uploads from SMB or SSH mounts always fail. Further, drag'n'dropping an image into a Hangouts windows for upload, or selecting an image via the "Select a photo from your computer" button that references a file from anywhere other than the Downloads folder will fail. Example: drag'n'drop or select from Google Drive, SMB, SSH mounts all fail in the Hangouts Chrome App.

This sounds not a Blink issue. Removing Blink>Forms>File.

The original report data Nov 30 2016 is old and I confirmed I can upload files from Google Drive / FSP to https://drive.google.com. Let me close the issue as won't fix. |
