I can not update my Smart Lock passwords, and when I disable it as saved passwords change

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.100 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open Configurations 2. Go to Passwords and forms 3. Enable the checkbox "Offer to save your web passwords" and click "Manage password" 4. In my case the passwords do not appear, and when searching anything in the search, the passwords change 5. I can not establish a step by step for the problem to occur, yesterday I changed my profile photo, and when using chrome today, the Smart Lock passwords disappeared and when activating and deactivating the box that activates Smart Lock the passwords appear and stay varying , Also when they change when searching for some words in the search. I made a video showing the problem, and as you can see, when you access the Smart Lock console, there are several saved passwords. Also, when trying to save a new password, it is not saved. Unable to reproduce the issue on Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome stable #54.0.2840.100 and latest dev #56.0.2924.10. Attached a screen cast for reference. Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue. ------------ 1. Opened chrome://settings 2. Went to Passwords and forms 3. Enabled the checkbox "Offer to save your web passwords" and clicked "Manage password". 4. Observed that password appeared after sync with account in chrome://sync-internals and when searched anything in the "search password" box, the passwords did not change. rodrigomeyer03@ - Could you please check this issue on latest chrome dev #56.0.2924.10 by creating a new profile without any apps and extensions and please let us know if the issue still persist or not. Hi krajshree I rebooted my computer this morning, and upon accessing Google Chrome a warning symbol appeared next to my name, in the upper right corner, asking me to retype my password because my account had a change, so the passwords reappeared normally and Smart Lock is working on every web page. Can you tell me why this happened? Thanks for your attention and feedback! :)

Thanks for the confirmation. What you describe is likely broken sync: You appear to be syncing your Chrome profile data with your Google account. Chrome needs you to authenticate with your Google credentials to have access to the sync storage. While Chrome stores those credentials to avoid bothering you repeatedly, sometimes they expire or break in some way. Until that is resolved by you authenticating again, the profile data cannot be obtained from the sync server and cannot be sent there, which might result in the lost ability to save passwords. |
