Make search across files faster |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.100 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Work on any reasonably complex web application. 2. Search for an exact string in all files (eg: method name). What is the expected behavior? Faster search. What went wrong? Search is very slow, to the point where it's faster to look for the individual file and do a ctrl-f search there. Is there any way Devtools can make search faster? Maybe index the code when Devtools is open, before a search query is made? At least exact search should be faster than regex search, which it doesn't seem to be. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 54.0.2840.100 Channel: stable OS Version: Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

This seems like a regression. Searches are taking way longer than previously (on the order of 5 minutes sometimes).

Could you please provide a link so that I would be able to constantly reproduce?
