UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.87 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Get hold of a Macbook Pro
2. Go to http://codepen.io/i-like-robots/full/KNXzRr/

What went wrong?
Opacity is applied to the entire element for the duration of the transition

Did this work before? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? No
 - Problem also affects Safari (10.0.1)
- Firefox (50 + 51) calculates opacity correctly
- Edge (38) calculates opacity correctly

Chrome version: 54.0.2840.87 Channel: n/a
OS Version: OS X 10.11.6

We've tested further on a variety of machines and this does seem to be restricted to certain Macbook models:

- Not present on Macbook Air (2011 model)
- Not present on 12" Macbook (2016 model)
- Present on Macbook Air (2014 model)
- Present on Retina Macbook Pro (2014 model)
- Present on Retuna Macbook Pro (2013 model)
