Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.100 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: Reproduced at least in icewm. I vaguely recall the same problem in KDE and perhaps other WMs many months ago. 1. Open a web page that contains a link to an HTML document. 2. Perform alt-tab to switch to another application. 3. Perform alt-tab to switch back to Chrome with the web page open. 4. Tap on a link to an .html document on the touchscreen. 5. Observe that it gets downloaded instead of opened, as would happen if I clicked on it using the mouse. Pressing alt before tapping on the link results in it being opened normally. What is the expected behavior? Document gets opened in the web view, replacing it. (Or opened in a new window.) What went wrong? Document instead gets downloaded. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 54.0.2840.100 Channel: stable OS Version: Ubuntu 16.04.x Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0 This has been happening on Linux only ever since I got the touchscreen. Because alt+click resulting in a download is the intended behavior, I am assuming that when tapping, the last known state of alt is used, instead of it being refreshed. I am assuming that with click, a refresh of the modkey mask happens before interpreting the click. However, I have not done any deeper tracking of the bug.

Sorry, I did not see the question from last year. FYI this was in no way tied to a particular URL. Also, I'll reopen if I observe this again. My only touchscreen on Linux is at home, but you can contact me internally, too, as needed.

Checked at home. This still happens. Can we reopen this somehow? |
