Uninvalidation of text selection on chromium codereview

Project Member Reported by danakj@chromium.org, Nov 28 2016

Issue description

Version: 54.0.2840.100
OS: Linux with disable-gpu

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) https://codereview.chromium.org/2525723004/diff/1/base/logging.h
(2) Use the legacy UI not the new polymer-like one.
(3) Scroll to the new code at line 448.
(4) Select all the text in the new code block.
(5) Unselect it. See a piece of the selection left behind at the end of the "custom exception on" line.

Sometimes selecting doesn't leave it behind it seems (tho that might be partial invalidation fixing it by mistake or something).

wkorman I'm assigning, but I think you just need to keep an eye on it as you have been.
Looks Linux-specific. Can repro on Linux 56.0.2924.10 (Official Build) dev (64-bit) and ToT.

Can not repro on Win7 57.0.2938.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) or on Mac 57.0.2938.0 canary (64-bit).

Duping to main bug tracking this issue as this looks like it's a variant case.
