Input event ordering?

Some more information: - This bug affects the macOS and Windows 10 version. - You can reproduce it with the trackpad and a mouse. - This bug occurs when mouse button is still pressed when you start typing on the keyboard (that's why for me it occurs when doing the 2 steps very quickly after each other).

Possible solution: Do not allow keyboard typing while a mouse button is pressed (like notepad in win 10).

This certainly isn't an input event ordering issue but is where the caret occurs when the mouse button is down. And the caret position defines where the next input event is to end up. If you are holding the mouse button down it is in an active selection mode so the caret is updating to always be at position 0. Moving to Blink>Editing but I suspect the resolution is working as intended.

When pressing mouse button not moving and typing keyboard on <textarea>f|oo</textarea>, cursor is on text input head mostly but is updated to the position on mouse per 3 seconds or so. Firefox and Edge don't update mouse position. I don't know this is speced but a kind of interop issue.

I think issue 708270 contains some useful information that is not part of this thread yet. On Mac enabling "three finger drag" is part of the problem, because it will "hold" the mouse down for a little while so that the fingers can be release shortly in between a dragging movement. For me this is where the problem is a major annoyance, because using a trackpad I don't think there's a good alternative, and lots of times I start typing too fast after selecting a piece of text. This is a bug that bites me several times a day.
