Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.3 Safari/537.36 Example URL: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. 2. 3. What is the expected behavior? usually when chrome is configured with disabled pdf plugin and with ask before downloading file, a click on pdf link will show popup saying do you want to open or save the file. This behavior was suddenly broken for me with latest dev update What went wrong? The file is downloaded and opened without popup notifying me if I want to save the file. This is really bad since I want to control what I open and where I save it so additional popup asking me where to save is necessary Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: 56.0.2924.3 Channel: dev OS Version: Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

Hi, Any progress on this ticket ? I realize it's not top priority but would be great to gain control over pdf clicking once again. Other option would be to have some workaround ...

this bug might be related to https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=460379 somehow the "always open with system viewer" option is applied to latest stable/beta/dev versions of chrome and there is no way to disable this option due to bug above. When clicking pdf link, the download is started automatically which is a problem by itself.

Looks like the bug made it to the stable channel. I can reproduce it on Chrome 56.0.2924.76 (x64). Like Bud said in the last comment, the option "Always open in Adobe Reader" in the download context menu remains checked.

Here's a comment from another ticket: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=680202#c10 Looks like the changes causing this problem have been reverted. I tried Chromium 58.0.3002.0 and it works as expected: PDF files don't open automatically, and I can enable/disable the "Always open" option without any issue. |
