Able to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.12.1, Windows 10 and Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome reported version #54.0.2840.99 and latest canary #57.0.2936.0. This is a non regression issue as it is observed from M45 old builds. M40 and lower builds don't have advance search options. Hence, marking it as untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks,

The "padding-left: 150px", "margin-right: 46px" and "max-width: 739px" styles of the "tsf-p" class (a div that contains both the logo and the search bar) seem to be missing on the search page containing the bug... Adding them using developer tools fixes the overlapping text.

I believe this is a bug with Google Search, not with Chrome. I'm going to file a bug against Google.

For googlers who may be following along, it's filed internally and now dupped against http://b/28196598 I'm closing at WontFix (in Chrome) because it's something not connected with Chrome. ExternalDependency means something else. (It means we're waiting for someone else to fix something and then we should pull the fix in. In this case, there's nothing for us to do at any point.) |
