Live region updates are not announced when using Jaws in Google Docs and Slides

Project Member Reported by nek...@chromium.org, Nov 23 2016

Issue description

Chrome 56.
Jaws 17 or 18.

Open Google Docs or Google Slides. In the case of Docs ensure that Accessibility menu > Settings > Braille Mode is disabled.
Try entering some text or navigating around your document or presentation.
Notice that nothing is announced.
In Docs, turn Braille Mode on. Notice that everything now works fine.
Try using NVDA. Notice that everything works fine even with Braille Mode off.

Cause: Jaws doesn't announce any live region changes in Docs and Slides.
