Issue descriptionChrome Version (from the about:version page): 54.0.2840.100 (64-bit) Is this the most recent version: yes OS + version: goobuntu CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit): 64-bit Window manager: i3wm URLs (if relevant): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%A9nyi_entropy Behavior in Linux Firefox: similar behavior Behavior in Windows Chrome (if you have access to it): What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) open the URL provided (2) <Ctrl-f> to find the word "alpha", without quotation marks (3) <Ctrl-g> or <Enter> does not show that many found. What is the expected result? The number of occurrence of "alpha" is far less than the shown 51 times What happens instead? It seems that chrome is searching also the hidden content. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot and backtrace if possible.

Issue is seen on the latest canary(57.0.2969.0) of Windows-10, Mac OS 10.12.2 and Linux Ubuntu 14.04. Same behavior is seen on Firefox and older chrome version: 30.0.1549.0 as well. Marking this as Untriaged for more inputs.
