webkit_tests failing >100 tests and aborting on mac_chromium_rel_ng

I have found two instance so far:

In both cases, the webkit_tests didn't start properly.

This happened last week, and the bug was documented here:

Loop in sheriff for more investigation.

The issue here:

was fixed by reverting this CL:
https://codereview.chromium.org/2500063003/

But the above didn't re-land, so I don't know what causes the flakiness.
