Issue descriptionVersion: 55.0.2883.42 beta 8872.44.0 (Official Build) beta-channel samus OS: Chrome What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Connect an external display, keyboard, & mouse. (2) Close the laptop to enter docked mode. (3) Lock the screen (4) Walk away for a few minutes until the device goes to sleep (5) Touch the keyboard or move mouse to wake What is the expected result? Chrome OS's really-superfantabulastic instant wake time. What happens instead? 5ish seconds before things are usable Please use labels and text to provide additional information.

My uninformed guess would be that the external display is slow to turn back on and that there's nothing we can do here.

Yup, we can't really do anything about the speed at which external displays turn on. Chrome OS is awesome :) but not all displays are as awesome...

The same display wakes instantly when connected to my linux box.

Again guessing: the Linux box doesn't turn the display off on suspend, but Chrome OS does.

No. Good point. Could very well be the dock I'm using.

Let me see if I can figure out a way to isolate what's happening/the effect of the doc.

Yeah, it's the dock. Tried a different adapter and it's quicker. |
