Issue descriptionChrome Version: 56.0.2922.0 Revision 4793d9335b9ce611e2deb40863793fa785773200-refs/heads/master@{#432511}(32/64 bit) OS: Windows(7,8,8.1,10),Linux (14.04 LTS),Mac OS X(10.11.6, 10.12.1) What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Launch chrome, navigate to http://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/mushroom-madness-3.jsp (2) Observe Actual: mushroom-madness-3 game does not get started i.e.Shockwave plugin for Bond-Breaker-2 game is not working. Expected: mushroom-madness-3 game should gets start. This is a regression issue, broken in 'M-56', will soon update the info: Good Build: 56.0.2891.0 Bad Build: 56.0.2894.0

+blumberg @Matt: is this the same as the issue you were showing us on Wednesday? If there is another bug for same thing already maybe merge the two?

I think this is expected. Flash is disabled by default. It will only get enabled after clicking the "download adobe flash" button and allowing the prompt (this is the HBD behavior) However after I do that, the swf gets downloaded - that part seems like a bug.

+Georges as he has done more testing as well and can share an update. IIRC, our initial plan was to show a 'play' icon or puzzle piece (right click to play) but it seems to have shifted to the 'download flash' prompt which IMO is not as intuitive for end users.

Re #4, the play icon will only show if there is no "fallback content" for the swf. Otherwise there will be a prompt. That's working as expected. You may want to chat with ericde@ if this approach is problematic but I'll mark this as WontFix for now. |
