Running "git fetch" in Chromium (remote https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src.git) hangs.

Tried multiple times and on a colleague's machine (both of us are in Sydney). git fetch doesn't complete, just seems to hang forever. Network traffic is very low ~1KiB/s up/down, probably not from fetching.
