Alt-Tab from Android App on Chromebook crashes and restarts ChromeOS

Reported by casuther...@gmail.com, Nov 15 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS armv7l 8872.6.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.7 Safari/537.36
Platform: 8872.6.0 (Official Build) dev-channel veyron_minnie

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open an Android App on Chromebook (Asus Flip)
2. Press Alt-Tab, e.g., to return to Chrome browser
3. Press Alt-Tab again, e.g., to return to Chrome app
4. Black screen appears, Chrome restarts after 10 sec

What is the expected behavior?
Change to next window.

What went wrong?
Crash. Black screen. Rebooted after 10 sec.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.7 Channel: n/a
OS Version: 8872.6.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

It seems that the rendering of the app thumbnails (for Android apps) within the app switcher helper is what is crashing chrome.

Same problem on version 54 stable too.
This happens if and only if I open any
android app even if it is google store.

e.g. open chrome and google store,
press alt+tab, boon.

thanks for submitting issue.
Also seeing this consistently on the Acer R11 (54.0.2840.101).
Same here on Chromebook Pixel 2015.
Easy to reproduce:

1. Enable Beta Google Play Store (beta).
2. Install Skype (personal version).
3. Launch Skype App.
4. alt-tab from Skype to anything else.
5. Watch it crash.

Note: I do have multi-user chromebook accounts active.

Version 54.0.2840.101 (64-bit)
Platform 8743.85.0 (Official Build) stable-channel samus
ARC Version 3487238
Firmware Google_Samus.6300.174.0
Same problem here on Acer R11 CB5-132T-C1LK.

1. Enable Google Play Store (beta).
2. Install Slack from Google Play.
3. Launch Slack.
4. Alt-tab from Slack back to Chrome browser.
5. Crash

I'm the only user on my Chromebook.

Version: 54.0.2840.101 (64-bit)
Platform 8743.85.0 (Official Build) stable-channel cyan
ARC Version 3487238
Firmware Google_Cyan.7287.57.82
Problem is now resolved on Chrome 55.0.2883.103
Problem is fixed on stable Chrome OS 55.0.2883.87 on flip c100pa.
Thank you.
