Because you have "Show suggestions for navigation errors" turned on (in tools>options>under the hood) the page that is displayed in a DNS error is actually on Google's web server. Chromium's user-agent is the same Google Chrome, as it would break compatibility with any web page expecting to see "Chrome". This means the page can't know which flavor you're running.

Status: Available here probably means that Chromium welcomes a patch that would insert or change some few characters of the browser useragent string to distinguish Chrome from Chromium (and then send an email to someone working with that error/search page).

The error pages no longer show the icon, and all the ones I could find that do display the product name use a proper branding string. |
