Incorrect rendering of SVG background when border-radius applied to element

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.87 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a div element with SVG background-image 2. Apply border-radius of 50% to this element 3. The SVG background is now repeated multiple times Please see http://codepen.io/anon/pen/GNJaRO for example code What is the expected behavior? SVG background should render according to background properties (for example, resize to fill the element) What went wrong? SVG background is rendered incorrectly and does not follow 'background-repeat', 'background-sizing' CSS properties Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? No Also present in Opera 41.0.2353.56 (Windows 8.1) Chrome version: 54.0.2840.87 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.3 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

Not seeing this on a Macbook with Retina display, Chrome 56.0.2913.0 nor M55. Test team please verify issue is fixed. ted451@, could you please try Chrome Canary to verify.

Thanks very much for the quick response. Due to the risk of breaking an existing release, we will not be identifying the fix and applying it to M54. M55 seems to be working as expected so we'll wait until that rolls out to have the fix to everyone.

Able to reproduce this on Win10 [HiDPI machine] - 54.0.2840.87 Please find the attached screen shot showing the difference between Firefox & Chrome. Unable to repro the issue on Win10 [HiDPI machine] - 56.0.2913.0 [Canary] & 55.0.2883.35 [Beta] Unable to reproduce this on Mac OSX 10.12 - 54.0.2840.87 Please find the second attached screen shot. Unable to repro on regular Win7 & Win8 machines - 54.0.2840.87 Please find the third attached screenshot.

Based on the symptoms described, this could be a dupe of issue 643623 (and hence fixed by r417504/8e62373579cf6eddb6723e7e8e39306cde20c934.) |
