Google Cast does not work

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. go to any web page
2. click on Cast Icon in Browser; or use Menu "Cast"; or use Ash Tray
3. cannot find Chromecasts

What is the expected behavior?
Chromecast devices are found
Cast proceeds

What went wrong?
No cast
Button for Ext shuts down

Did this work before? N/A 

Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? N/A

adding:

settings for media router in chrome://flags have NO EFFECT:
1. set to default; restart = no way to cast
2. set to DISABLED; restart = Cast options [menu, ash tray, extension button] all show Chromecast devices properly.  RESTART - NO JOY.  No cast options available.
3. set flag to Enabled = no way to cast
4 use the nuclear option for Set All Flags to Default = no joy

Can easily cast via Android to any of my devices; router, dsl/cable modem rebooted = no joy on any scenario 1,2,3 above

I noticed this report was from 2016. However I am currently (May 2018) having this problem. I was able to cast a few weeks ago, but now it is not working. Is this the same bug or different? Can you fix? jreeves246
