If Chrome restarts for any reason, you have one chance and one chance only to restore your previous session.  It may appear that you have the option to explicitly recover any lost session from the History -> Recently Closed dropdown menu, but don't be fooled, you have but one chance.

If Chrome restarts after a hang, you better be ready to restore your full session right there and then, and do not use your browser or O/S until you do so.

If, like me, you happen to do O/S updates which restart your machine, prepare to part ways with your Chrome Session forever.
