Issue descriptionChrome Version: 56.0.2912.0 Revision 817f8b49ade74a199d0c83d11a7befb89e1a0ba5-refs/heads/master@{#430205}(32/64 bit) OS: Windows(7,8,10), Mac(10.10.5, 10.11.4), Linux(14.04 LTS). What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Launch chrome, navigate to chrome://md-settings page. (2) Search in page by typing in search field, then navigate to About section from side nav bar. (3) Observe the search field. Actual: Text in search field gets cleared after navigating to other section even if search icon is focuable. Expected: Text in search field should not get cleared after navigating to other section. This is a regression issue broken in M-55, will soon update the bisect info. Good build: 56.0.2906.0 Bad build: 56.0.2908.0

>Expected: Text in search field should not get cleared after navigating to other section. Navigating to the about page or a subpage via the sidebar is expected to clear the search results. Only clicking on search results is expected to preserve the current search.

With respect to comment 2: if text in search field should gets clear is expected behavior then search icon in search field should be focusable as focus is lost from search field. Thank you. |
