Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.71 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://netflix.com Steps to reproduce the problem: N/A - I have no idea why this 'utility' is installed, and what its purpose is. What is the expected behavior? Access to netflix without being asked for a proxy login, and without seeing 'Waiting for proxy tunnel...' for several minutes before the page loads. What went wrong? Suddenly cannot access Netflix website as I am asked for a proxy login (have never used a proxy) and the page is very slow to load, if at all, whilst 'Waiting for proxy tunnel...' sometimes displays in the corner. Checked Chrome task manager and have an entry I don't recognise - 'Utility: V8 Proxy Resolver'. Have searched online and there is nothing at all relevant. Cannot close the task as it instantly reopens itself. Did this work before? Yes Version has not changed. Chrome version: 54.0.2840.71 m Channel: n/a OS Version: 8.1 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

Regarding comment #1 -- you should not disable the out of process proxy resolver. That is an important security feature and I encourage you to restore that. Rather, it sounds like the problem you are experiencing is you are congigured to use proxy server, but don't understand why that is so. Use of a proxy may be introduced from a bunch of places: * a chrome extension * group policy on your computer * the network you are on (if configured to use auto-detect) * system proxy settings * and more So start by looking at chrome://net-internals/#proxy and see where you proxy setting is coming from. Also take a look at the system proxy settings to see what they are set to (although note that group policy may override what you see in the various dialogs, further confusing matters).

gorg...@: Would you be willing to provide the net-internals requested in c#2 and answer the questions in c#4? It's sounding like the problem is in your system configuration, but if not, we won't be able to make progress without your help.
