Investigate Mac full screen menu item casing |
|||||
Issue descriptionThere's a problem with the fullscreen menu item casing (attached). I can't reproduce it in Stable 54.0.2840.87 (64-bit) and Canary 56.0.2907.0 canary (64-bit). But other folks can: 54.0.2840.87 (64-bit) https://twitter.com/lnikkila/status/794202252600901633?s=03

This is really weird...it's most likely a localization issue

I noticed the reporter is in Finland, I'm going to try out various forms of English

Should the string description have been prefaced with "In Title Case:", or does the _MAC naming convention automatically indicate title case? Just trying to figure out why this happened and how to prevent in the future.

I'm not too sure about. I think in this case, the translator just made a grammar mistake. Note that "Always" and "Toolbar" got capitalized, but they forgot to capitalize "Show", "Full" and "Screen". Also, keep in mind that they were translating "Always Show Toolbar in Full Screen" to UK English. I think the string format should be enough to indicate that it's in title case.

It looks to me like a sentence case translation where they felt that Toolbar was a proper noun. Would you please find out the translator should have known we needed a title case string? And do we need to go through the localization team to fix this or is it an easy change for us Mac engineers to make?
