||||
Issue descriptionSteps: 1. Go to theverge.com (from the NTP, for instance) 2. Click on an article 3. From the article URL, press back Expected result: Going back to the verge homepage. Observed result: Going back to the NTP. Setup: - Nexus 6P, Android N: - Chrome Dev 56.0.2906.1, Canary, Stable 54.0.2840.68 - Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, x86_64): - Chrome Dev 56.0.2906.0 May be a content issue, but this is still puzzling.

Seems to work as expected in Firefox 49.0.2, on Linux.

Weird. I can repro on theverge.com and vox.com, but only if I click through to the article before the spinner stops. Repros on 56.0.2908.0 (Windows Canary) and 54.0.2840.59 (Windows Stable). I'm guessing a bisect will show this is due to turning on the new navigation logic in M54, but I'll try to run one to be sure. I'll find time to take a look.

This goes back years to at least Chrome 21, so it's not a recent regression. Still worth investigating to see if we can fix it, or if it's a problem on the site.
