Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.87 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open some web page, select some text, right click and choose "Email 'selected text' to somebody..." 2. Duplicate tab and try to do same: select some text, right click and choose "Email 'selected text' to somebody...". Other possible ways to replicate the issue: 3. Open a link in new tab from the original page from step #1. Select some text, right click and choose "Email 'selected text' to somebody..." 4. Re-start Chrome without closing tabs. Select some text, right click and choose "Email 'selected text' to somebody..." in one of the re-opened tabs. What is the expected behavior? Open default mail client app with the 'subject' set to the selected text from web page. What went wrong? Silently fails. Nothing happens. WebStore page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/select-and-email/dkbnnemfhhokdlaagdicedjoacdlgkic Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: 54.0.2840.87 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.10.5 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

Are you the extension developer? If so, have you tried opening a new tab instead of trying to navigate the current tab?

Yes, that could be a 'dirty' workaround, and that is what i use right now in our other extensions, with a timer to close it. Tnx for suggestion.

This sounds like the same root cause of 591985, merging the two. |
