Chromium trace was acquired on an empty profile, not logged in, single tab open to google.com, after searching for "sdfsdfsdf"

I do not hear any audio playing when I max the volume. There is no speaker icon on the tab, and I do not expect any audio to be playing. A trace shows that the renderer thread AudioOutputDevice is waking up every 5 ms. 

I wasn't able to grab a sample of chromium, but I see the problem on Google Chrome as well. I grabbed a sample of the browser process, and see that the audio thread there is also hard at work.
