I am not sure whether I have the exact same issue but I see a similar one with my Asus CN62 ChromeBox (Core i3-5010U model) and a DP->DP cable (or DP->mDP). The display regularly turns black (sometimes for a very long time) unless I *also* connect the ChromeBox to the monitor via HDMI. (I then set the display mode to “mirror mode” so that I only have one “effective” display.) It is a rather ridiculous workaround and I would very much like to get rid of it, especially since it limits my windows to 30fps (though at least the mouse cursor is displayed at 60fps). The display is a Dell P2415Q, if it makes any difference.

Tested on R68 PVT celeron chell w/ HP Z24i monitor connected to chell via 1. hp elite USB-C dock 2. dingdong Tested both - USB-C ports on chell w/ both polarities - Tried lid-close - Bouncing between mirror & extended mode - Moving cursor across internal/external boundary - Different workloads (heavy & light) Saw no blinking except - When dingdong updated its FW ... WAI - When I physically tapped on dingdong connection near USB-C receptable ... KI Also tested R70 MP M7 chell w/ similar results (no repro). Closing. |
