I believe this is supposed to be assigned to you since it is a revision bisect to yours.

Tested this issue on Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome latest beta M55-55.0.2883.44 and dev M56-56.0.2913.0 and observed the horizontal scrolling is displayed as expected, But issue is still seen on chrome latest stable M54-54.0.2840.90.

Chrishtr@ - Could you please let us know can we change the milestone label to M54 since issue is observed only on stable.

Confirmed that it is fixed in 55.
Labels: Merge-TBD
[Auto-generated comment by a script] We noticed that this issue is targeted for M-54; it appears the fix may have landed after branch point, meaning a merge might be required. Please confirm if a merge is required here - if so add Merge-Request-54 label, otherwise remove Merge-TBD label. Thanks.

As of now we do not have plan for a Stable Refresh for M54.

There is no bugdroid update, is this issue fixed by some other merges in M55 branch?

I did not figure out what fixed it on M55, just observed that it was fixed.
Could you re-test and verify?
I have tested on Win7 with 54.0.2840.71 stable and 55.0.2883.44 beta and below is my observation. please find the screenshot as well.

54.0.2840.71 stable: no horizontal scroll
55.0.2883.44 beta: horizontal scroll appears

Great, looks fixed then.
Labels: -Merge-TBD
Removing "Merge-TBD" as no merge is needed for M55 and there is no M54 release plan any more.
