white flash/frame when switching tabs

Reported by billdill...@gmail.com, Oct 25 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.71 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
I had 2 identical pictures open, each in a respective tab. There was some saturation changes made to one of them and I was switching between them to compare to see which we were going to choose. Annoyingly, every time I would switch, there was a very brief white flash, as if the browser is inserting a white frame when you switch between tabs.

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
see above

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 54.0.2840.71 Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

Could you give links to the images in question so I can attempt to reproduce?
This may not be quite the same as 470669.
sorry for the super late reply, but here's another example of the white flash when switching between tabs to compare: I'm comparing the specs of these 2 snowblowers and when I switch, there's a white flash/frame in between and it's annoying and distracting. here are the URL's

https://www.snowjoe.com/product/snow-joe-ultra-18-inch-15-amp-electric-snow-thrower-sj622e

sorry for the double post but, I just checked again and now there is no white flash/frames inbetween switching tabs, so maybe something is causing it to happen. Whatever is going on, it's not consistent and most of the time, there is indeed a white flash/frame in between tab switching
Both of these examples you gave in comment 5 have a white background. By white
flash, do you mean that the contents of the page shows white for a period before
being filled in by the picture of the other snowblower? I suppose that may happen
in some scenarios if there is insufficient memory or a slower computer to swap out the
screen fast enough. But in this case, you are looking at two webpages on the same
domain, so 470669 doesn't seem the right bug to dup this against, since that bug
is about problems when switching between domains (that have a different render
process).

I'm not sure insufficient memory or a slower computer is the cause, because as I said before, minutes after filing this bug, when I went back to comparing them, there was no white flash/frame when I would switch between them, it was behaving as we would like and it was very nice. So this issue isn't perfectly consistent

I know this isn't a critical but bug when people are comparing things that are similar (similar photos, product tech specs) the white flash/frame hurts that experience.
