WIN 8 64 bit
1366x 768 res.- the recommened res sizing for this laptop-ASUS -R500A-series
125% zoom factor for font sizing & items fitting the screen - I had this setting- always-& is the most comfortable for reading etc.on this O/S
AS FOR SCREEN SHOT - OF WHAT - EVERYTHING IS OVER SCALED- THE ENTIRE CHROME BROWSER- APPS -APPLETS -GMAIL-TOOLBAR- MOSTLY AFFECTING THE ICONS & SEARCH BAR.I FEEL THIS LATEST UPDATE AFFECTED ICON SIZING -about 20% larger-WHICH THEIR IS NO WAY OF ADJUSTING.I HAVE TRIED DOWN SCALING THE BROWSERS ZOOM FACTOR FROM 100% TO 80% .THIS MAKES ITEMS FIT THE PAGE A LITTLE BETTER BUT DOES NOT EFFECT ICON SIZING.ALSO TRIED SCALING DOWN FONT SIZING BUT NO CHANGE IN ICON SIZING BUT MAKING ITEMS ON THE PAGE/WINDOW -TABS -WEBPAGES -GMAIL UNREADABLE -TOO SMALL-AS I SAID EARLIER THIS ALL CHANGED AFTER THE LATEST UPDATE WAS INSTALLED -EVERYTHING WAS FINE/PERFECT B E F O R E THIS stable?? UPDATE.
PLEASE FIX THIS MESS-asap- BECAUSE AS THIS BROWSER IS NOW IT IS UNUSABLE . NOTHING IS READABLE SOME APPS DONT WORK PROPERLY BECAUSE THEY DONT FIT THE WINDOW PROPERLY.ESPECIALLY GMAIL CANNOT READ MOST OF MY MAIL BECAUSE THEY DONT FIT PROPERLY .SO THANK GOD I ALSO HAVE FIREFOX AS A BROWSER & forced TO SWITCH.

Unable to repro the issue on win10 chrome version updated chrome from 54.0.2840.71 to 54.0.2840.87 - Pages look fine with 100% zoom as expected

Could you please upgrade to latest stable and see if issue still exists. 

I AM USING LATEST VERS.-54.0.2840.87
& STILL A MESS 
FOUND A TEMP FIX FROM OTHER P.O.ed CHROME USERS WITH SAME ISSUES
KLICK ON PROPERTIES IN THE SHORTCUT "TARGET FIELD" AT THE END ENTER: (with space between)
/high-dpi-support=1 /force-device-scale-factor=1
ALSO IN THE COMPATIBILITY TAB check-off theline:Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
ALSO:IN CHROME FLAGS:"Disable" Blinks zoom for device scale factor
AND NOW MY BROWSER SCALING IS BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE THE UPDATE INCLUDING ALL MY APPS - GMAIL -ETC ARE ALSO NORMALIZED TO PROPER SCALE AND ALSO GAINED ALL THAT LOST REAL ESTATE FROM THOSE UGLY ENLARGED ICONS.THE BROWSR LOOKS SOOO MUCH BETTER.
BUT AS I SAID THIS IS " ONLY A TEMP FIX" because EVERYTIME YOU SHUTDOWN OR RESTART THE PC YOU HAVE TO UNPIN & REPIN THE SHORT CUT ON THE TASK BAR FOR THE CHANGES TO TAKE EFFECT . WHICH IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT DOING THIS ALL THE TIME.
WHAT WAS ALSO MENTIONED IN THE TEMP FIX TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH PINNING & UNPINING WAS TO GO INTO THE REGISTRY AND DO SOMETHING IN THEIR BUT THATS -OVER MY HEAD- I AM NOT TOUCHING ANYTHING IN THEIR.
SO I WILL LIVE WITH THE PINING & UNPINING UNTILL THIS IS PROPERLY FIXED.I HOPE "ASAP" IN THEIR NEXT UPDATE 55. I SEE ITS STILL IN BETA.
ps : the last update 54-87 also is screwed up & has BUGS such as my scrolling &/or clicking on some fields such as password or links & they wont open .forgot to mention this earlier also.

I just wanted to add that I have a lot of older users complaining to me about this and the suggested custom shortcut with the command switch is a really poor cludgy work around with the following failings:

The first instance of Chrome appears to set the scaling and takes precedence over the other instances.  This means if Hangouts, Keep or Drive are install and start at login running in the background, then the custom short doesn't work and the users still sees the large UI scaling.   Because Chrome is running in the background, closing all the visible instances of Chrome does not correct this issue.  You instead need to open Taskmanager terminate all Chrome processes, then re-open from the Custom Shortcut.  Likewise, if someone first opens Chrome from a link, then the system rather than custom shortcut opens bypassing the scaling override.

This all is not going over well with less technical senior management I support.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED . STILL USING THE POOR CLUDGY WORK AROUND.
IF ANYTHING IT HAS GOT WORST WITH NOW MY SCROLLING IS SPURATIC & JUMPY.
(using mouse).I HAVE AN EXT. TO HIDE SCROLL BARS (hate them..take up to much real estate on the screen/site).I HAVE TRIED DISABLING THE EXT WITH NO DIFFERENCE OR CHANGES. THE SAME WITH MY OTHER SCROLLING ENHANCER/EXT.I HAVE.
ALSO BESIDES BEING JUMPY. ANY ANIMATION ON A PAGE IS FROZEN UNTIL I SCROLL THE PAGE.THE SAME GOES FILLING IN OR ENTERING ANY INPUT FIELDS.TYPE IN A FIELD ITS BLANK BUT AS SOON AS I SCROLL UP/DOWN ON THE PAGE IT WILL APPEAR WHAT I HAD ENTERED .WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS FILLING IN PASSWORDS AND SUCH. THESE "BUGS" AND SCALING PROBLEMS DID NOT EXIST BEFORE THESE LAST UPDATES.
AS MENTIONED ABOVE I TRIED EVERYTHING TO TRY TO FIX THE SCROLLING PROBLEM(forget the scaling problem except for the shortcut) DISABLING EXT.TRIED CHANGING SOME SETTINGS IN CHROME EXPERIMENTS PAGE. ALL WITH NO RESULTS OR FIXES.

Since your system's scale is set to 125% Chrome now correctly honors that setting, which is why it appeared to get larger. Previously it did not honor that setting. I understand this is a jarring change, and I apologize.

THEN WHY CANT CHROME AT LEAST PUT IN AN "OPTION" TO DISABLE OR ENABLE THIS BIG CHANGE.TO FIT THE USERS LIKING.IS THIS TO DIFFICULT TO DO? -IDIOTS !!-
JUST WOULD LIKE IT THE WAY IT WAS . EVERYTHING ON ONE PAGE WITHOUT HAVING TO SCROLL EVERYTHING UP&DOWN -LEFT TO RIGHT.-RIGHT TO LEFT YOU GET MY DRIFT JUST BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS BIGGER NOW .
