Android apps on Asus Chromebook Flip cannot "see" external storage devices

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS armv7l 8530.96.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/53.0.2785.154 Safari/537.36 Platform: Platform 8530.96.0 (Official Build) stable-channel veyron_minnie Steps to reproduce the problem: 1.Downloaded File Manager(any)from play store 2.Run it 3 What is the expected behavior? Unable to see or access external SD Drive What went wrong? Android can't see the SD card that I've just mounted. There are two file managers here now, the one that comes with Chrome OS (it sees the card) and the one that I downloaded from Android Play Store(doesn't appear to see any external storage. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 53.0.2785.154 Channel: stable OS Version: 8530.96.0 Flash Version: (Disabled) Note crossed out SD Drive in screenshot

Hi! Thanks for filing. Can you tell confirm whether you see these devices mounted within ChromeOS, outside of Android apps?

Using Chrome file manager works as should. However, if you use Android app within the chrome OS, see pic above, it can't find SD card or flash drives. They are mounted in Chrome OS, but not within the Android app. on version 55.0.2883.87

Left message in the issue comments, didn't know l can use the email, which l pefer. Not sure anything can be done, it's most likely the android apps themselves. Let me if you need anything else...thank you. Phil Giglio
