Login Screen Shows Improper Text

  Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
     Safari:
    Firefox: 47.0.1
         IE:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) While you open gmail and quickly type login and click on login.
(2) In password page you will not able to see image because it's in downloading mode and not appear.
(3) So the placeholder we got and it's not properly visible it's not "Back" it's only "Ba" is visible.

What is the expected result?
It must show Back as place holder if image not able to download.

What happens instead?
It's only shows "Ba" not "Back".

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Unable to reproduce the issue on windows 7, Linux Ubuntu 14.04 and Mac 10.12.1 using chrome version 55.0.2883.87 and canary 57.0.2963.0.
Image loaded without any issues.

er.vivekmehta@Could you please try the issue on latest chrome version and update the thread if the issue still persists.
