Chromium uses 100% CPU and 100% ram/swap causing system halt

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu Chromium/53.0.2785.143 Chrome/53.0.2785.143 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open browser to mail.google.com 2. login 3. leave unattended What is the expected behavior? Should just 'work' without issue What went wrong? mail.google.com starts to use all available swap/ram/cpu until system crashes. Did this work before? Yes 2 stable release Versions prior, unsure of version # Chrome version: 53.0.2785.143 Channel: stable OS Version: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 11.2 r999 This has also carried over into Chrome with same issue. Installed chromium to figure out solution, same bug exists.
