Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. Turn off the device screen (device is in idle status) 2. Send intent by "am start" command. adb shell am start -a android.intent.action.VIEW -d dat=http://m.google.com -f 0x10000000 -n com.android.chrome/com.google.android.apps.chrome.Main What is the expected behavior? Chrome should be loading page in idle status. What went wrong? Chrome doesn't load the page in idle status. Did this work before? No Chrome version: 53.0.2785.143 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0 The feature that Chrome can load the page in idle status would be very helpful for apps to provide information on lock screen. For example, KDDI carrier app "Info Clock" provides with headlines of news on lock screen. To do that, "Info Clock" app tried to load "http://news.auone.jp/" sending intent to Chrome. But Chrome is not dealing with receiving intent in idle status , so "http://news.auone.jp/" is not loaded.

There is a security concern. We do not load external intent unless Chrome is in the foreground. |
