I guess it only happens in Windows 10, because I cannot reproduce this in Windows 7. :(

Unable to reproduce this issue on Windows 10 -reported version, chrome stable version-54.0.2840.59,latest canary chrome version-56.0.2894.0 & Mac 10.11.4 chrome stable version-54.0.2840.59 with the steps mentioned in Comment#0. Please find the attached screencast for reference & let us know if we miss anything to reproduce the issue. Thanks.

If you use 2 monitors, just try drag Chrome window to another display.
,

#5 - is this a workaround, or a way to reproduct? If the latter, I still cannot reproduce.
,

I have this issue too. Chrome 54.0.2840.71m 64-bit, Win10. I can see the pointer on my primary screen, but when I drag my window to my secondary screen I can't see it.
,
Oct 28 2016
I have this issue but only when using an external monitor, as soon as I disconnect it and use my laptop screen, I can see the finger-dot cursor. I am using Win10: 10.0.14393 build 14393, Chrome 54.0.2840.71 m (64-bit). I have also checked the same website in firefox in the responsive (device) mode and it works fine - possibly due to the cursor staying as an arrow?
,
Oct 28 2016
I've tried with another laptop and the bug is the same. (same external monitor, connected via HDMI cable) Also same issue with the Opera browser Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.59 Safari/537.36 OPR/41.0.2353.46

The pointer is present in the screencast but not actually visible on the monitor:
,
Oct 28 2016
Another strange thing that happens to me is that when I connect a third monitor, it works flawlessly. The only difference with the second one is that I connect the third over a USB-HDMI adapter. Maybe that might help to narrow it down?

Hey guys, I have a laptop + 2 extra screens, 1 of them is HDMI, the other is VGA. The cursor is visible on my laptop and VGA screen but not the HDMI one. The HDMI monitor is set to my primary monitor in windows, but it dosent fix it if I have it set to different monitors as primary. Chrome Version: Version 54.0.2840.71 m (64-bit) On Windows 10

I too have the issue where I cannot see the cursor on an external display. This is a Lenovo Y700 laptop with a GTX 960M and an Intel HD 530. Normally, I work with the laptop plugged into a desk workstation, closed, connecting the monitor to HDMI and controlling the machine with USB keyboard and mouse. Windows 10 seems to offer several multi-display options, and this is what happens in each mode. "PC screen only": I can see the touch cursor on the laptop's built-in screen. Second screen is off and not used. "Duplicate": I can see the touch cursor on the laptop's built-in screen, but not on the second display, even though what they show is otherwise identical. "Extend": I can see the touch cursor on the laptop's built-in screen, but when I move the window to the second screen, the touch cursor is not visible. "Second screen only": The laptop's built in screen is off. I cannot see the touch cursor on the second screen. Windows 10 Build: 14393.351 Chrome Version: 54.0.2840.71 m (64-bit)

I've got two monitors, 2 separate HDMI interfaces on the PC, into separate HDMI to VGA adaptors, and plugged into the VGA socket on each monitor. Windows 10. The problem exists for me too - on either monitor.

Does eye dropper work for you? (it is also implemented as a cursor).
,

,
Dec 2 2016
The eye dropper shows on my extra monitor. In fact after selecting and deselecting the eye dropper the default cursor returns. Notes: 1) The cursor comes back as the default arrow, not the circle one you can see on your first monitor 2) The arrow still acts like the usual circle cursor (No hover events, etc.) 3) You don't even need to choose a colour for the regular cursor to come back 4) After you do it once, it appears to remain between page navigations 5) Closing the developer tools window and reopening it means you lose sight of your cursor again Is this the same for anyone else?

Might be an issue with laptop integrated video adapter. Mine is Intel HD Graphics 530 and cursor is invisible. I am using Windows 10 64-bit and I had this issue in various versions of this OS. One of possibe workarounds: Hold Shift to see the cursor on the device mode.
,
Dec 7 2016
Not sure if mine is integrated or not, but I have nvidia geforce gtx960m (laptop)
,
Dec 7 2016
Well, every laptop have integrated graphis for low power consumption. Thay are bundled into a processor. Mine is Intel Core i7 6700HQ with Intel HD Graphics 530. In addition, some laptops have descreet graphics with high power consumption. Mainly for rendering and games. It may me possiple that problem is hidden in some harware piecs, so I experiensing this issue in such laptop: MSI GE62-6QF -Win10, 64 bit -Intel Core i7 6700HQ with Intel HD Graphics 530 -GTX 970m

Same issue on Dell OptipPlex 3040 with two monitors: Windows 7 Professional 64bit; Intel Core i5-6500 Intel® HD Graphics 530 Chrome Version 56.0.2924.76 (64-bit). I can't see gray pointer on both screens. Suggested fix by lampinh...@gmail.com with Control panel > Mouse Properties > Pointer Options > Display pointer trails works but it is very uncomfortable. I think this problem appeared after update of the video driver but I am not sure about it.
,
Jan 26 2017
I tried to rollback video driver but it didn't help. Also I tried to disconnect one monitor and use only one at a time but this did't help to solve this iisue as well.

I've had this issue for a while and I even resorted to debugging directly on my android tablet. FIX: Make sure the icon next to mobile view toggle is on, the cursor doesn't show like it used to but it's made things easier, see attached image.

Feb 1 2017
I've found a temporary solution to this issue on my Windows 10 Lenovo Y700 laptop with GTX 960M and an Intel HD 530. If you press Windows and "+" (the plus key), which should open the Windows Magnifier program. If the Magnifier opens with the zoom mode set as either "Lens" or "Docked", set the view mode to "Full Screen" with Ctrl+Alt+F. If it opens and zooms in, you'll want to use Windows and "-" (the minus key) to continue viewing your screen at 100% of its original scale. At this point, just keeping magnifier.exe open makes the touch cursor is visible. The downside is that you now need to move the silly little magnifying glass out of your way any time it's obscuring something it ought not. In discovering the above, I noticed something that made me think that this is something broken with the Intel HD 530 driver rather than with just Chrome. In the external monitor scenario using the Magnifier to show the touch cursor in Chrome, I thought that I would try "Lens" view mode, Ctrl+Alt+L. This produces a large opaque rectangular window that obscures everything below the cursor. Does anyone else have this issue as well?
,

I'm stuck on same issue... I found this bug long time ago, but it's still unresolved! I was surprised that Chrome Dev Team cannot solve this problem for a long time....

I was facing this issue since today and trying to pinpoint the cause of it I found that the Eye Care Switcher application (which dims the blue light of the screen) that came with my ASUS notebook was the responsible. I turned of the Eye Care mode and the cursor started appearing again. So, check if you're using an app like this that might be interfering with the chrome devtools mobile cursor.
,
Feb 21 2017
Version 56.0.2924.87 (64-bit) with Win10 is also displaying this problem. This is a Dell laptop so no eyecareswitcher app is running nor Flash. Would love an ETA for repair as this is really hard and we do not want to use Edge however there is no problem there! Thank you
,
Feb 21 2017
To the poster of #55, There's a temporary solution for this issue to get your cursor back to working before there's a global fix. My Lenovo Y700 doesn't have the Eye Care Switcher either, but I posted a solution at #51. https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=656915#c51 I've even since discovered that you can also just minimize the magnifier window to the task bar and it keeps working.
,
Feb 21 2017
Imho the best solution is still enabling pointer trails. There isn't much difference between having pointer trails at the minimum level, or no trails at all.
,
Mar 15 2017
I have a dell laptop with second monitor on VGA and third on HDMI, doesn't work on the third monitor, turning on pointer trails on slow works and is the best work around for me personally. No eyecare products running.
,
Mar 16 2017
For me the eye dropper solution in comment 28 works well, although it's normal arrow shaped rather than the expected round grey one. Until now I was using the mouse trails solution, but even with the minimum amount of trails it's still slightly annoying in every other application I use with the flickering.
,
Mar 16 2017
The temporary solution that works best for me is opening the Windows magnifier, and then leaving it minimized. I get the normal pointer then. Also I uninstalled Flux, but still have the issue.

Hi, I've been having the same issue for a couple of months. Through reading this thread and poking around under the hood I have found that the touch cursor came back when I went into Intel Display settings > General > [Display Name] > Quantization Range This was set to default, I whacked it up to full and the cursor appeared. Hope this helps some other people, it was a real irritation for me.
,
May 2 2017
#64 fantastic. I confirm this also works for me. I couldn't see the cursor befor, but after changing the Quantization range to Full Range it works! many thanks.
,
May 2 2017
Thank you so much, I had been using the pointer trails work around which wasn't ideal. You've completely solved the problem, so so helpful.
,
May 2 2017
Thanky you so much #64 ! You are my hero !

,
May 25 2017
OK ppl, this has been bugging me for a while and I just not only solved it but greatly improved the contrast on my monitor! This issue occurs when you connect via HDMI from a laptop to an external monitor, and is caused by a mismatch between the detected colour range and the actual (desired colour range). Read this article for a full explanation and instructions on how to solve it using Invidia, Intel and AMD graphics cards. www.howtogeek.com/285277/how-to-avoid-washed-out-colors-when-using-hdmi-on-your-pc
,
May 25 2017
Thanks that fixed the problem for me :)
,
May 25 2017
Not strictly true. I have a desktop and I have the problem. I have 2 monitors (exactly the same model, both HDMI); one plugged into my graphics card (working), the other plugged into my motherboard (not working). I have even placed a window split over the two monitors and my cursor is doing magic by disappearing and reappearing as it goes from one monitor to another.
,
May 26 2017
I found another workaround but not sure if it works in their hardware setups. I had the same issue with my hp laptop runnning Windows 10 Home Basic build 1607 on GTX 950M and Intel 530. After uninstalling the old Intel Graphics Driver(some version released in 2016) and reinstalling the latest stable version(15.45.18.4664), issue doesn't reproduce. Make sure reboot your pc after un/reinstallation of the driver. driver dl: https://downloadcenter.intel.com

I'm also experiencing this on a multi-monitor setup with an Intel HD Graphics chip on Windows 7. The Quantization Range setting workaround resolved it for me, but I haven't rebooted yet... Seems related to and/or a duplicate of this other issue: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=633832
,
Oct 16 2017
The Quantization Range workaround resolution did not persist after rebooting. Had to toggle it to Default and back to Full Range for the cursor to show again. Intel indicates that the PC already has the latest driver installed for the Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 chipset within.

Happening here as well on OSX second screen, but only when hovering over a video (youtube) does the cursor disappear.
,
May 2 2018
This problem persists on Version 66.0.3359.139 (Official Build) (64-bit) As others have mentioned, its only happening on the second monitor connected though HDMI to my laptop. The intel graphics settings temporary fix does the job, but doing it every single time is not optimal.
,
Jul 26
Same issue on a Chromebook: Asus c101pa connected via HDMI to an external 1080p monitor. Each time I change the video setting on the Chromebook display it acts as a toggle for enabling/disabling the ability of the mouse pointer to stay on the chromebook screen only, or travel across both monitors. This is not an issue when the chromebook lid is closed and only the external monitor is displaying the screen. Just as Comment #80 says, this is not optimal to have to invoke the control panel and fiddle with the settings.
,
Jul 26
I have the same issue of mouse cursor vanishes when moved into Chrome on my Dell 7140 Tablet, no multi monitor. It just happens randomly and I have to restart Chrome every 10-20 minutes to get the mouse cursor back.
,
Aug 19
Same issue, Samsung Chromebook Pro using USB-C connection to HDMI input on monitor.

Adding information to Comment 83... Running Beta version of ChromeOS. Also rebooting did not clear the issue. hope this info helps.
