Non-Regression: Weird Emoji panel is seen in compose mail of Gmail on adding Emoji input extension

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)Launch chrome and add above extension >> Sign in to Gmail and compose mail >> Click on emoji panel and oberve for emoticons

Expected: Emoticons should be seen even after adding extension.
Actual: Instead dots are seen in place of emoticons.

NOTE: Emoticons are seen in chat window even after adding extension.

This is a Non-regression issue as it is seen in 36.0.1985.140 stable too.

Able to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.11.6 using chrome version 56.0.2891.0.
Marking it as Untriaged.

This sounds like a bug in the specific extension, not the extensions platform.
