Tab mute UI could be more intuitive.

Expected: My friends know how to mute tabs.

Actual: My friends do not know how to mute tabs:

17:48:32 < pcd> does chrome really not have the feature where you can mute a tab  by clicking the speaker icon?

17:49:49 < mrwright> oh my god how did I never notice that

Status: WontFix (was: Untriaged)
We added the ability to simply click the speaker icon to toggle muting.  For various reasons, after long discussion, it was decided not to ship this.

In the long run, we think the big win here comes from addressing the cases that cause people to want/need to mute tabs.  We have a number of possible plans on this front.
