Regression: Demo is not working on http://www.kevs3d.co.uk/dev/js1kdragons

Chrome Version: 55.0.2883.11 Revision 709e70a37ad5ea7e4155b38134d00530605f11bb-refs/branch-heads/2883@{#79}(32/64bit)
OS: Windows(7,8,10), Linux

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Launch chrome, navigate to http://www.kevs3d.co.uk/dev/js1kdragons/
(2) Right click on demo and select 'Save Image As' option,then click on 'Show All' option from download bar(it will navigate to chrome://downloads page ).
(3) Come back to previous page and click on demo,observe.

Actual: Demo is not working after step 2.

Expected: Demo should work.

This is a regression issue,broken in 'M-49',below is bisect info:

Good Build: 49.0.2622.0
Bad Build: 49.0.2623.0

I do not think border-radius is related. Assigning to junov since the whole page seems to be a canvas.

@ junov: Request you to please take a look into it and provide an update on the same. Issue is marked with M55 label and prioritised as P1. 

Please let us know if there can be a fix before M55 reaches stable or can you please change milestone and prioritise it accordingly.

This regression happens long time ago, reverting the suspected patch is likely not going to work. This will require more investigation.
